Taking care of your Arsayo bag

You love your Arsayo bag: it goes everywhere with you, every day and on all your adventures. To keep it for a long time and help it stay as beautiful as on day one, remember to give it a little attention from time to time.
But how do you pamper your favourite backpack?

All our products, whatever the collection, can be cleaned with a damp cloth and mild soap. Gently rub the surface, then leave to air-dry.

No chemical treatment is needed, and all our bags are water-resistant and waterproof (except for the Estival and Silva collections!). Never use harsh or undiluted products, which could damage the materials and make the colour run.

The Mela collection (in AppleSkin)

This extremely tough material holds its shape and its colour stays consistent.
The material softens with time and use while still looking like new. AppleSkin© is easy to clean, but for a stubborn stain you can use clay stone.

The Original collection (in synthetic PU)

Our material is hard-wearing and needs no care products. Even so, avoid long exposure to sun and heat, including during storage.

If a small snag ever appears in the material and reveals its white underlayer, there are permanent markers in matching colours that will make it disappear remarkably well. Contact us for the reference.

The Estival collection (in cotton canvas)

This light, breathable material is ideal for summer days and has the advantage of being machine washable at 30° max. Even so, limit repeated washing to avoid the bag ageing too quickly.
This collection is not waterproof as standard, but can be made so by applying a spray designed for the purpose (to be reapplied 2 or 3 times a year, following the instructions on the product).

The Silva collection (in faux suede)

Our latest addition, in ultra-soft faux suede, is easier to care for than you might think. As with any material, we recommend gentle cleaning: rubbing too hard can damage and "flatten" its natural finish. Use water and, if needed, a natural soap such as black soap.
From time to time you can put it in the washing machine on a delicate cycle (30° max), but bear in mind that, as with any garment, repeated washing will age the material faster. Leave the bag to air-dry on a chair or hanger.
This model is not waterproof and will only hold up in a light shower.

The Suber collection (in cork)

A natural material that will naturally soften, crease and develop a patina over time, while remaining strong. Even so, avoid hot, humid countries when travelling – cork is not a big fan!
To stop the material drying out over time and with sun exposure, you can occasionally use a plant butter such as shea butter to keep it supple and prevent cracking.

The dye used on our cork bags is environmentally friendly. It is beautiful and long-lasting, but may fade slightly over time. If you have a coloured bag and would like to bring back its shine, you can use a shoe polish in the same shade to recolour it. (Always test on a hidden area before using any product!)

Warning: hand sanitiser gel is the only known enemy of our bags, even the synthetic version! Use it carefully near your bag, as it could discolour it and damage the material.
Avoid all contact with chemical products in general.

If it does happen, do not rub; let it dry, then apply cleansing milk to the stain to dissolve the gel.

Cleaning the lining

Turn the lining inside out and rub with a little water and mild soap, then rinse and leave to air-dry.

We do our best to offer Arsayo bags in attractive, high-performance materials, constantly keeping an eye out for new eco-friendly and vegan materials.

We also choose the best-quality hardware (snap fasteners, zips, metal rings...). If you do lose or damage a part, contact us and we will find a solution together.
